Client Portal

One place for your client to collaborate with you throughout the project

Written by Ali

The Glossa Client Portal is a secure, lightweight space where your client collaborates with you throughout the engagement — sharing files, answering discovery questions, and reviewing and approving requirements — all without giving them access to your Glossa workspace.

You send your client a single magic link at the start of the engagement. From then on, that same link is where they go for everything: uploading documents you've requested, answering the discovery questions you've shared, and later, reviewing and approving requirements as you generate them. Everything they do is tracked in Glossa.

What the client portal does

  • Early in the project — Lets you request documents from your client and share the discovery questions you want them to answer; they upload files and respond right in the portal

  • As requirements are ready for their input — Lets you select which requirements to share; clients review them in a clean, searchable, sortable table, approve them or flag them as Needs Review, and leave comments

  • Throughout — One secure magic link covers every stage of the engagement, so your client never needs an account or login; you choose which contacts have access, get notified the moment they act, and see a full audit trail of everything they've done

How it fits into your workflow

The client portal isn't a single step at the end — it plays a role from early capture through final approval:

  1. Capture — Record meetings, upload documents, and import communications — including files your client uploads through the portal

  2. Generate — Glossa auto-generates structured requirements and user stories

  3. Refine — Review, edit, and organize requirements by category

  4. Share — Send selected requirements to your client via the same portal link they've already been using

  5. Approve — Client reviews and approves; you resolve any flags

  6. Deliver — Move forward with a signed-off, traceable requirements set

For what each step looks like from your client's side, see Client Review Experience and Discovery Questions.

How the Client Portal link works

  1. The link is a magic link — it logs the recipient in automatically, no password needed.

  2. It can be opened multiple times by the recipient for as long as it's valid — for example, if they close the tab and come back the next day, or want to reopen it on a different device.

  3. Each session started from the link lasts 7 days, which is also how long the link itself stays valid.

  4. The link is intended for the original recipient only — treat it like you would any other emailed access link, and re-send a fresh one if you suspect it's been shared.

  5. If a client says the link isn't working or looks wrong, resend a fresh link from the requirement list view — this most likely means the original link expired (after 7 days) rather than being locked to someone else.

⚠️ Preview with your own email address rather than using the client's link.
